Iranologists have prominent role in the development of relations between Iran and Russia
 

Iran ambassador to Russia was the guest of 8th European Conference of Iranian Studies at St. Petersburg. At the opening of the conference held by the Association of European Sociologists in collaboration with the State Hermitage Museum and Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, the governor of St. Petersburg, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, the director of museum and director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts made speeches. The conference followed in various meetings with lectures by Iranologists around the world.

IRAS: Iran ambassador to Russia was the guest of 8th European Conference of Iranian Studies at St. Petersburg. At the opening of the conference held by the Association of European Sociologists in collaboration with the State Hermitage Museum and Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, the governor of St. Petersburg, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, the director of museum and director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts made speeches. The conference followed in various meetings with lectures by Iranologists around the world. At the conference, a number of professors of Persian history and literature of our country are also presented their articles. I’m honored to be invited in this glorious conference. First of all, I really appreciate the "Forum of Europe", "the State Hermitage Museum" and "St. Petersburg Institute of Oriental Manuscripts" for organizing and hosting the Conference on Iranian Studies and thank Mr. Poltavchenko Governor of St. Petersburg, Mr. piotrovsky director of the Hermitage Museum, Ms. Popova head of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, Ms. Almut Hintze president of European Iranologist Society, Mr. Grigoriev chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, and other Iranologists from Russia, Iran and other countries for their presence.
Selecting the State Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts for collaboration and hosting the conference, is a good choice. Because these two centers have thousands of work related to the history and culture of Iran and a number of valuable research has been done for introducing Iran.
An overview of the conference reflects the richness of the program and attention of researchers to different time and thematic aspects of Iranian issue, and researchers have tried from different angles to study the history, culture and Iranian civilization. Welcoming the holding of such a conference represents the organizer's success and attractiveness of the Iranian issue to researchers from different countries.
As authorities certificate, the country of Iran is one of the richest and most ancient civilization in the world and during the several thousand-year-old, countless books and brilliant civilization and culture are manifested in different ways. Academic achievement in each of the different manifestations of this rich culture and illustrious civilization and expanding the boundaries of knowledge in this sphere are important and the utilization of the cooperation of scientists and researchers around the world in this area is effective. In addition, for take advantage of existing knowledge to students and scholars the necessary facilities must provide and this group of research should be supported and the efforts of scholars - both predecessors and contemporaries – should be appreciated.
The Iranology sphere with this assets and immense power can be an important factor in development and strengthening relations between Iranian people and people around the world and can become an important context for expansion understanding between nations. Over the past century, European and non-European tourists, researchers, thinkers and writers for exploration and introducing Persian language and literature have made an invaluable effort with love and diligence. These efforts, according to the rich and long-standing cultural - civilization Islamic Iranian heritage in the form of archaeological activities, recognizing the origins of ancient languages and ancient Iranian scripts, correction and publication of ancient manuscripts, language and Persian literature and other family of Iranian languages, anthropology, recognition Iranian and Islamic arts, and Islamic theology and philosophy, have led to the greater benefit of the old Persian culture and strengthening humanitarian and cultural relations. Such achievements are worthy of respect and appreciation.
Russian Iranology school in its 200 year history has been the source of services to Iranian culture and civilization and introduction of it to the world. From pioneers such as Mirza Kazim Bey to nobles such as Vasily Bartold, Vladimir Minorsky, Valentin Zukovsky, Yevgeni Bertels, Ivanov and valuable Iranologists that are alive today, everyone have a contribution to make progress in iranology field in Russia. Russian researchers have worked in multiple fields related to humanities and social sciences of Iran:
Several bilingual lexicography, study of the history of the earliest times to the present day, literary research, extensive linguistic studies, popular culture and folklore research, and many other that well support these efforts.
Iranian scientists also have a prominent role in development of relations between Iran and Russia. The role especially with introducing the culture and civilization of Iran to the people of Russia through translation of Persian works has caused cultural interactions, proximity between Iran and Russia, and effectiveness on relations between the two countries in various fields.
However, the Iranology is still in need of more investigations. Closer involvement of experts can affect exchange knowledge and generating new works. This interaction could be down with the participation of relevant institutions such as the Foundation for Iranian Persian, Saadi Foundation, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization, Foundation for Iranian Studies, Academy of Persian Language and Literature, National Library of Iran, Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia and Persian language and Iranology centers at universities in Iran.
Interactions between Iranologists at the conference could underlie the increase in travel of professors and students working in this course to Iran, support of verism for introduction of Iran, introducing various aspects of contemporary culture, literature and arts, digital exchange of documents, continuation of the translation and publication of fine Persian works to other languages, strengthen the publication of bilingual books for the expansion of Persian language and support of young iranologists.
I hope this conference will be effective to achieve its objectives and enhancement the interaction between Iranologists around the world, and will be a context for more meetings, dialogue and integration among the Iranologists in the countries of Eurasia.
